Received the update to version 1.8.0 a couple hours ago, and those 2 worlds came back exactly as they were last saved. Now, though, I'm having trouble with memory full issues & can't play the worlds without freeing up space. There is still 42% available space on my hd 1 tb drive. One of my worlds is over 700mb & I couldn't leave the level 3 map area that I was currently exploring. Not sure if that is related. Roughly 1.3gig is used on map saves, which I do not want to delete any of. Maybe there's a 1 gig limit that Minecraft is set for?
Regardless of these bugs, I feel this update is heading in the right direction.
I too have lost 2 worlds in the past just randomly without any sync issues. HOWEVER, the update came out for me today to 1.8.0 & those 2 worlds are back. With fixes comes new bugs. First started playing on the world I was map exploring a few days back (love the way the environments blend together now from new exploration to what was already explored) Problem was, I couldn't leave the level 3 map area as an invisible barrier prevented me. Went into the water on border with horse & am now stuck suspended in air. Exited game, now get a consistent message about no hd space available on Minecraft.
I still have 42% of my 1 tb hd free. I tried copying a world before testing another one & that no space issue came up.
It looks like the update is going the right direction so keep up that good work. I have no desire to delete the maps already have which when added up is roughly 1.3 gig.
I just started my Xbox One after just over 3 months off, & those 2 worlds that disappeared are still gone. Will start a new one & play that and will let you know if anything similar happens.
So this is happening to you too. Only one time has my world come back after disappearing. That is when I waited a few months later. Now, 2 of my worlds since have disappeared, & haven't been back on in a couple months. The only consistency to the issue I've seen with research is that it's the world on the top (last one played) that goes. Other thing is that I cut off the power completely from the Xbox 1 when not playing it.
In my friends world, the same thing happened. He described it to me over the mic as the End Dragon was back in the Overworld without being defeated, at the spawn area where players 1st spawn when joining the world. Also, just yesterday, I was on a friends world to respawn the End dragon, & after mining up to take out a few of the healing crystals, I noticed the End dragon was gone, & the portal was open again to the Overworld.
Is it possible that the End dragon can get to another part of End, through the little slot that opens up when it is first defeated? Is there a way that it can teleport to the Overworld from that point?
Just to add to this, I did exact same thing with the way my Xbox is turned off. Anyway, my story is I too have world disappearing issues. I started a new world literally 3 days ago on the Better Together Xbox Minecraft, & invested like five hours into it. The size of world was about 35 MB. When logging into Xbox One Minecraft Better Together, loaded up the world screen & once again latest saved world at the top just disappears. This is now the 3rd time this has happened, twice since the latest update received about a week ago. This is now such an issue that I'm hoping maybe players & Mojang could be made aware of this. There is NOTHING worse than losing your worlds. My other world was roughly 260 MB in size & generated originally from the the Xbox 360 days. It didn't show up when the latest update occurred sometime last week. My 1st world to disappear disappeared sometime early in 2018 & reappeared later on the 1st aquatic update. The date on that one was 12 31 1969 & thumbnail was greyed, but upon loading it, worked fine.
From what I can gather, the only consistencies I can find with disappearing worlds seems to be the latest world saved (world that is at the top of selected worlds) It isn't a going to the End issue (35MB world), nor does it appear to be the size of world issue. No abrupt power offs during gameplay & no issues with lag, saving before exiting, and crashing of any sort. Hopefully this experience I have had will help.
^ The above that I mentioned may be unrelated to Minecraft Update. Around the same time Xbox Live updated too, & had the so called "Black Screen of Death". Factory resetted, & downloaded game again never expecting to see the worlds, yet, those worlds were there, thumbnail greyed, needing to be synced back in. It looks like this is solely an Xbox service issue that has now been resolved.
Thank you to all who contributed to making Minecraft Better Together a place to be. 🙂
