Our World Was Renamed/Deleted on Xbox

Anyboby know if this can be fixed??? Sooooo much work we did in our world...it pains me to think start over 😞

I am having the same issue I logged in today and my map was renamed JQEAADzxAQA= and was reduced to 0.01MB I really don't want to lose this map I have been building it since the Xbox 360!

For those affected, can you tell us any more about the worlds affected? Is it only worlds of a certain size? Or perhaps is it just worlds that were originally Xbox 360 legacy worlds?

Mine was around 189mb and was started on an Xbox one version of Minecraft. Recently though a message has been popping up about the world not being synced properly but the message dissapeared that quick I couldn't read it all. I had 2 backups of this world that have gone exactly the same .

I may have started on 360 now I think about it. Couldn't be certain.

Any save I had under 100Mb was not damaged by whatever did this. Also my map was an Xbox 360 map originally but, I have a map that was started on the 360 that came out undamaged. Previous to this event I haven't had any issues with this map so I can't really link it to anything. Thanks for the speedy response and I hope we figure this out.

Our world was around 770-780mb. We started it on the Xbox One X. It was a brand new world we had started on a new console, but put tons of days into it trying to get somewhere. Gone now...not cool.

My world and backups which were 300mb were all corrupted. Started on bedrock

The name sounds like some of the maps I download's zip file.

Time to invest in a Seagate external hard drive. I can't trust this anymore. Not gonna lose my stuff anymore.

I have an external hard drive for my xbox saves. It didn't stop me from running into this bug.

Can't you just restore your game saves from it tho?

No, I'm in the same boat as the rest of you. The problem is reading existing files.

It is great, as it means the data itself is likely still there. Crossing fingers that they figure it out.

My world says 0.1mb. It use to be almost 800mb. Doesn't seem like there's any data left 😞

Mine was started on Xbox one then tranfered to bedrock edition

Mine does not even load sometimes as it comes up with Minecraft took to long to load please try again.

This has been since this new update and please fix as your game is losing interest and not bieng played anymore 

A large file has been renamed to "f-ADADO-NQA=" with 0.01MB after the phase 2 update.  It was over 300 mb. World was created in 1.4 version.  Large worlds seem to be probe to corruption or missing in Bedrock based by reports since new MC release. 

I have been affected by this bug as well, I had a legacy 360 edition world that I converted to the edition version of Xbox One and then converted to bedrock so my world's pretty old, hopefully this gets fixed soon...

Main and Backup file both corrupted and had the name change to the same string.

Both were slightly over 400mb in size.

3 other files did not corrupt. They were all under 100mb. One of those three was an old backup of my main world (before I went exploring) that I had put in creative mode to test some things.

Prior to the update I was getting a message for a brief second that said my world was not synced correctly but it would quickly disappear and the world would load fine.

I am also getting the message that my world has not synced properly but my world still doesn’t load.

After the long awaited Aquatic update, my maps that my friends and I've been working on for the past several months has disappeared, I've tried syncing and I've tried even creating new maps of which nothing shakes old ones back into the menu. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and clearing data cache etc. nothing. they are just gone, so we just started a new one, but MONTHS of game play and work are gone because of it. Part 2 was rolled out to my console yesterday and no changes on the maps, I was hoping that bug was fixed, but apparently not, so here I am submitting an official bug report

11 days another update but still no fix.

Looks like minecraft is just going to fade into the back round like all other games. Shame as was looking forward to the new update

I was fine until the hotfix yesterday,  now just going into a saved world and exiting corrupts it.  Logging into another console doesn't fix the corrupted ones and ones that aren't corrupted aren't showing on the other console so i can't save them someplace else.

Lost my world after latest hotfix update. It's over 400 all other worlds still there. Also strange pink and black screen. 

I logged onto my world today and my world wasn’t on the world list, it also wasn’t in the storage section of the settings. The world was working fine yesterday but it now seems to have vanished, I’m playing on the Xbox one bedrock edition and I created the world only a few weeks ago. 

 I am giving up with it seriously you fix the ship but not the actual game unbelievable sort it out 

I'm playing on my world with this bug not loading any chunks for my world doesn't corrupt. But, im still getting the crashes sometimes when exiting the world.

So my question is, will my world be cursed with this bug even after it gets fixed since I've been playing on it and saving it with this bug active?

BTW, my world was started on the Xbox One Edition and is ~295m. And corrupted when it crashed after saving and quitting after exploring generating new chunks and the world file size surpassing 300mb

FYI, I had a realms backup of my world that's how im still playing on it after corrupting.

HI GUYS. JUST AN FYI. I WAS TOLD BY A MINECRAFT DEV ON TWITTER TODAY THAT A FIX IS COMING. WE'LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

Ok that’s good then, this bug also deleted another world I recently made, hope we don’t have to wait long. 

i either get this message when i click on a world where this happens i get a message telling me the world is corrupted or the game just straight up crashes (beta 1.6.0.6) 

Our main world was the ONLY one in our games list and it is now gone. Completely gone. It doesn't load when we ask it to load old games either. We are very sad. 😞

We clicked update this morning and then started playing the game before the update was  finished. Our world we were playing froze up so we restarted the xbox. When we opened Minecraft again the aquatic update had been applied (the background of the menu was the ocean). We went to load out game and it wasn't in the list AT ALL. 

We have always played on Xbox One. This game is not a legacy game.

I’m just waiting for the big fix so I can go back on my world it sucks that we all have to wait but apparently they are working on it and the fix is coming soon, just hope it isn’t too long away.

It's reports like this that are keeping me from playing Bedrock at all, as I am an Xbox player and I do not want to lose my worlds. When I get the urge to build I load up the Xbox One edition and build there, despite how much I want to play around with the new stuff in Bedrock. Not till Mojang gets their crap together and fixes it.

I looked at the change log history for bug fixes I’d assume the bug fix will be out in the next week maybe just over a week but most of the bug fixes don’t actually take too long thankfully.

The same happened to a world my family and I spent days working on in survival.  Its upsetting because it gets a lot to get my sister to join us in a game

I can confirm this. Hit my five year old world. Hopefully it gets fixed. It mostly seems to happen to larger world files.

Do you guys think the worlds are corrupted or too large to sync properly due to a mistake with the Aquatic Update Pt. II?

No, it just another one of the many bugs in this game. It corrupted my friends world and it was only a few megabytes.  So to me it seems like size is not a factor. Just bad code somewhere.

Would you wager that a bug fix would fix already affected worlds or does file fixing need to take place?

unfortunately it's unlikely that a bug fix will recover any world lost to the bug. Sorry.

I'm not risking it... I haven't played Bedrock in a month or more and I'm not going to until this bug gets fixed. I've built too much in my main world to lose it to Mojang's bad code

under edit world options it says that the seed of my world is negative one (-1) is this just me?

Same here. I assume it is used as a placeholder because it cannot retrieve the correct seed.

Anybody hear any news regarding this issue?

i've completely stopped playing minecraft.  i just don't want to do the grind again.

Today's update to 1.5.3.0 will hopefully resolve this issue, and players should see their worlds show correctly in the menu again.

The update can take some time to roll out fully, so I'll leave the ticket open and wait for further confirmation from you all that the bug has been resolved first.

Sorry. I'm normally not this excitable but the prospect of my world being fixed makes me utterly ecstatic.

Clicked on world that still has gray snapshot with 0 MB on 1.5.3. it synced and loaded world up with no problem. Exited world now showing colored snapshot and filesize to 345MB on world list.

UPDATE: Click world again may seem like it freeze on loading screen. Give it time until it finally started loading up. After the third, loading and exiting are much faster.

Just updated the game and my world still hasn’t appeared on the world selection screen....

Did you delrdethe world when it was all messed up? If so, I think you're screwed.

I JUST INSTALLED THE NEWEST UPDATE 1.5.3 AND LOADED THE WORD THAT WAS MESSED UP AND IT IS NOW RESTORED PROPERLY!!!! EVERYTHING HAS COME BACK!!! THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH MOJANG! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

On the 1.5.3 update, I exited my world, tried loading it back up, and my game crashed......

We updated and our game is still missing. 😞

They don't reappear...if you deleted the file I think your out of luck. I didn't delete mine. Although it was messed up I just clicked on it and it loaded everything perfectly again. Now it's back to normal. 

I NEVER deleted my file. It just stopped showing up in the list. And it still isn't there.

Yeah same thing here one day I just started up minecraft and my world wasn’t on the list, and I updated the game earlier and it still isn’t there

We were playing and it froze up. Then we restarted and it said it had updated. Then we went to our games list (excited to play the update) and it was gone. 

My world has been restored, I had to select the file that had been corrupted and then the maps resynched and my original map was fixed. So happy it is finally fixed.

Was experiencing this issue before and 1.5.3 has fixed it for me, thanks!

What about beta 1.6? It is also affected.

Updated to 1.5.3 and my world still won't show up in the worlds screen.

Clicking on the 0.1 renamed version of our world (it was approximately 280 mb before it corrupted) causes minecraft to freeze and crash back to the xbox one dashboard. So sad....

Got another hotfix notification, went to open my other world and it was gone too. This is getting really frustrating.

I have been able to load my world since the update. It seems that it fixed worlds with the "sync" issue but not the corruption issue. I am stricken to believe they are two different bugs. I wish you all the best of luck. I don't suggest deleting worlds as some already did considering they were able to fix some problems already. Stay optimistic.

i had the same problem, waiting too to get back my world, in August 25th.

the world disappeared with update 1.53 and now with 1.60 impossible to break a block, im possible to play game now.

Yeah, mine shows up but tells me it cannot sync fully whenever I try to load it. It occurred after I had to do a factory reset on my console.

I haven't been factory reset console for years. I think games and apps are saved in the cloud but personal saves are removed permanently. I don't know if it is true. Need confirmation from mods

It still shows up in my menu and also I chose the "keep my data" option. It just won't let me load the world. Quite odd. It is still present in the menu and seems intact.

Im getting corrupted file message on all my saved worlds now. I play on the worlds with my kids and after a while the game crashes. I go back in to reload the world and the corrupt message appears allowing me to only delete the world. I’ve lost them all trying to fix it. Some I’ve been working on for over a year. All gone... 😡

I hope they get a bug fix out before 1.7. We need one.

Just lost my world after months of work, contacted Xbox support and followed their advice sadly looks like my world is gone for good as well is my passion for playing the game. Maybe after time I'll go back to it but right now far to fed up to start again as I play on a single world for a year before creating a new world

Has there been any update to this?  I got the same error last night about not fully sync or file has been corrupted.   I had uninstalled and reinstalled the game.  Restored the Xbox One.  Xbox was no help to me.  All other worlds loaded but the one that is over 400mb

Yeah, I get that issue myself. I have been waiting for a fix for a month. I'm not sure when it will be fixed. Hopefully they get at least part of the issue resolved by 1.7's release.

I had a beta update on android a couple of days ago.  My worlds have been deleted entirely.  I created a new one to find out where to place my backups and can't find that either.

Hm. That is not good. Did any files make it through?

There was a folder in a backups folder I didn't have that had what looked like one world in it, but when I moved it into my own backup hoping it would overwrite one of mine to a more recent version there was no overwriting.  I can't find out what this mysterious one is because when I created a new world to find out where to put my backups, I couldn't find it.  I've no idea where it's putting worlds now, and even less idea why it deleted mine.

Nope.  But Blocktograph (which lost all funcionality many, many updates ago) restored enough to let me get back to my spawn point when I get holpelessly lost.

@unknown This sounds like a different issue altogether, and might be related to a change in storage location on Android.

For those experiencing the issue with world loss on Xbox - is this still an issue for you after the 1.7.0 (stable) update? Some significant changes have been made to the world syncing process, which should allow your worlds to sync correctly now.

Patience is the key, especially when using slower connections, and you might need to open the world in 1.7 for it to trigger the upload sync.

From our tests, it might take some time for large saves to sync correctly (20+ minutes), and you might encounter the message "your other console is taking to long to sync". Just press "Try again" (not sync current data) and it should eventually upload to the cloud.

It might take another 10+ minutes to download the world from the cloud, and at some time the progress bar might freeze for a couple of seconds but the transfer should complete.

Hello, my game version is 1.7.0. And yes the world is greyed out. I tried teaching out to xbox but getting a message that my ticket is closed but I think that's an auto message reply.

That sounds great but, I didn't change it, they're nowhere on my device.  Also, my phone has internal and external storage as one thing, not two.  When I created a new one to find out where to put my backups, I couldn't find that either.

I just updated minecraft to 1.7.0 on the Xbox Once, my last time playing was October 12th 2018 and everything was working FINE.

First off, the game took a while to load the main menu. For a while the camera was just spinning in circles underwater before any options showed up.

Then, i try loading my 158.0MB world and it says “this world is not fully synced or has been corrupted. Try playing on a console where it’s in a good state and try migrating again.” The world image is greyed out.

I just played on 2018-10-12 as the world save shows, and everything was fine. I’ve had to reset my Xbox which is why I needed to sync user data and load my world in from the cloud, but I had to do that this summer as well and I’ve previously loaded saves from the cloud without issue.

I’ve done nothing wrong and yet I’m getting this issue now. I never would’ve started a world on the Xbox one if I knew this was a possibility.

My game world should be safe on the cloud, regardless of any bug. I sure hope that this bug can get fixed, and that I’ll eventually be able to load my world like normal.

I’ve read through the forum posts like this one that have all had similar issues since the summer, I’ve just started having this issue now - but I’m already devastated at the thought of my world being corrupted, especially when I’m not at fault.

So after more searching around I decided to check https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live-status and it currently says that the first option, “Xbox live core services” are down.

It says that it was an issue at 12:53AM, and I’ve been trying to get it to work since 1-130AM as I then decided to start googling about it.

My point; is it possible that I’m having this issue loading my cloud save world because of the Xbox live core services being down?

Xbox live core services are back up, so I loaded up Minecraft and - I still get the “failed to sync world data” upon trying to load my world save.. help lol.

Hello, me and my wife just lost our world on xbox one better together, 1.7 we were saving the world and going to change to the resource pack. It took a bit to sync so I canceled it and restarted the game to find our 350 mb world had vanished and it no longer shows it on the worlds list. My wife Is in tears as it is something we have played together since we've gotten married. Please tell me there is a fix or update being worked on.

I have the same issue as i had been playing on my world & then Xbox live services went down. I reloaded Minecraft & all of my worlds were grayed out. I have lost hundreds of hours of game play & 20 worlds. The message i keep getting is “this world is not fully synced or has been corrupted. Try playing on a console where it’s in a good state and try migrating again.”. I & my followers are totally devastated. Please fix this as i have spent months on these worlds & a lot of money on packs. 

I had this same problem, still have not found a solution. Are you currently game sharing or your account has a home xbox different from the xbox you were playing on?

I too have lost 2 worlds in the past just randomly without any sync issues.  HOWEVER, the update came out for me today to 1.8.0 & those 2 worlds are back.  With fixes comes new bugs.  First started playing on the world I was map exploring a few days back (love the way the environments blend together now from new exploration to what was already explored)  Problem was, I couldn't leave the level 3 map area as an invisible barrier prevented me.  Went into the water on border with horse & am now stuck suspended in air.  Exited game, now get a consistent message about no hd space available on Minecraft.

I still have 42% of my 1 tb hd free.  I tried copying a world before testing another one & that no space issue came up. 

It looks like the update is going the right direction so keep up that good work.  I have no desire to delete the maps already have which when added up is roughly 1.3 gig.

Sadly my missing world still has not come back as of downloading the update, but it is good to hear that it is slowly getting fixed. My save data still correctly downloads from the Microsoft cloud as including the missing world, and my Xbox doesn’t seem to think it is corrupted, but it still doesn’t show up in the list of worlds. Please let me know if more information would be helpful — I’m an engineer myself so I might be able to help pinpoint the issue.

I downloaded the new update and my world is still having this issue.  Still waiting for a fix!

Really this should be your top issue!  If people are losing their saves and can't access their worlds you're going to have a lot of people stop playing.  I'm scared to start a new world for this reason.

Hi Jay. Is this issue resolved with the 1.8.1 update? My issue MCPE-37784 still doesn’t seem fully resolved. Sometimes the game saves normally, other times it doesn’t. I’m hoping when this issue is resolved, the other will too.

Unreal - logged in to check out my worlds with the latest update, and 2 more saves are now unusable. I cant even access them to delete them off my console. This 'fix' feels like it's going the wrong direction. How can this known issue still be occurring?

I lost my world a few hours ago. I was on it this morning, had to leave for class, and then it was just gone. It was barely pushing 60 MB, but I had spent a lot of time in a small area. I use Minecraft, specifically this world, to calm my anxiety.
I really really hope for a fix soon. I would hate to lose so much work, so I can't imagine the loss for those who had +100MB worlds...

Just got hit by this bug too. Our world was 555mb. It went missing but now it’s back but corrupted.

Just played my world. Fortunately it’s not corrupted or got a greyed out icon any longer. But went exploring and saw bottomless pits with chunks missing. Saved the game and reloaded and I was back at the previous save point. Tried again and the same happened. Now it doesn’t seem to save. My world size is 1.4G. All these problems seem to arise when the world size gets larger. Could we please get an update as to when these problems are going to be resolved? It’s highly frustrating and makes the game not fit for purpose.

The new update has now corrupted all my worlds. Disappointed.

My world was greyed when I loaded in today. It loaded fine, saying it needed to update resource packs, then worked fine except for the massive lag when opening my inventory or accessing a crafting table (but that's a different issue).

I'm dreading booting up Minecraft again later... This is a world I've been working on since before TU31 with the new stone types and the biome changes, and I do not want to lose it. So much stuff in it that I can't get back.

This is what's happened to my worlds! I've given up on minecraft. Mojang are not interested in fixing bugs. What is the point of fancy updates when I can't even play? 9 months and this critical bug is not fixed!

New update but the problem is still unresolved. Why is no one from Mojang even updating this page telling us if they are ever going to fix this problem.

Just experienced this bug today, as far as I’m aware this bug has existed for over a year and nothing has been done to prevent it. Mine and my friends world was deleted from my worlds list and a much smaller world named dQyGXWGICwA= which was 0.01mb had replaced it, which is very different from the 500mb world that it was originally. This new world was also dated 01/01/70, and whenever I try to open it my game crashes.

However a copy of the world that was over 100mb did survive which is unlike others who have experienced this bug, but that backup world is to outdated for me and my friends to even want to play on, as so much progress would have been lost. We would rather start another new fresh world however we fear the bug may happen to that world too.

I just feel like me, my friends and MANY others have been scammed of their time, especially me and my friends who put months into that world only to have it corrupt to a bug that is OVER A YEAR OLD. Incredibly discouraged to play the game I love due to a game breaking bug that seems to be ignored by Minecraft’s development team despite this bug affecting many for over a year now.

Hello Cody again, i have recently found out a way to get your world back if it has been corrupted by this bug.

What i did was press the edit button on the new corrupted world that was 0.01mb and then it told me it couldn’t sync the world, however i clicked on the edit button again and it let me edit the world. It said the seed was -1 which it definitely wasn’t before. I then made a copy of the world and it not only made a copy of my original world but it also brought back the world itself!

I’ve been playing on the world for a few days now and the bug hasn’t re-occurred. If you have been affected by this bug then I heavily recommend trying the steps above if you want to get your world back!

World doesn't appear anywhere after I restarted the console

This bug happened to me yesterday and my 500mb world was replaced with. 0.01 mb world. Mojang day they’ve been tracking the problem for almost 2 years now but haven’t fixed it 

My world recently disappeared off my list of worlds. This problem is in the latest hot fix update and the beta version of the nether update. 

Please fix this soon, I understand if you can’t because of what’s going on in the world right now, but please fix this glitch when you can.
