Actually, I'm not 100% sure if this was on the games end so much as on my end. My computer has a serious overheating issue, and as such, it initiates an auto shut down to save itself. Now, what could have happened is the nether was reset, but by the computer when it reloaded itself. Anyway, I'm glad to know that other people are experiencing crashes similar to this when they alter the save files, and it's not just me.

This world was created in 1.16.1. Upon entering the nether I ended up in the basalt deltas. The portal home (which I call the return portal) was not there. I looked in all directions for about 100 or so blocks and could not find the portal. So, as a result, I used the give command to give myself enough obsidian for a portal and flint and steel so that I could make a return portal myself.

Also, what do you mean by "manually delete the nether"? I can't manually delete the nether. If you are referring to the portal, no I did not manually delete it. As I explained in a previous comment, the issue occurred when my computer shut down while I was still in the nether portal, while the nether was still generating. The issue could be if a player enters the nether and their computer shuts down unexpectedly and their still in the portal, the portal on both sides is destroyed, as the computer would return to its last auto save in the world (probably before the portal was created, as it was in my case). Upon creating the portal a second time and entering the nether, the return portal was not in the nether. As I have stated myself, it is entirely possible that this issue is on my end, not the games end. If no one can reproduce this, then this issue can be closed.

This works as intended. Cake is a type of food that can be placed as a block and eaten from. It is not technically a food item because you can't eat it straight out of your hand. As such, it does not count towards a balanced diet. Now, should it? Yes, it should. It would be logical for it to count because, by the advancement's description "eat everything that is edible, even if it's not good for you", this would be the same for cake, because it is edible.

Was unable to reproduce this myself. Close this at your earliest convenience. What probably happened was, when I first created the world and got enough obsidian to make a Nether Portal and went to the Nether, my computer was starting to overheat, and as a result, it initiated an auto shut down to prevent itself from overheating completely. Minecraft had just completed rendering the terrain when the auto shut down occurred. Perhaps, a possible way to reproduce this is to create a Nether Portal and go to the Nether, and after appearing there, while you are still in the portal, shut down your computer, leave it for a while, then reboot your computer, play minecraft, and if you appear in the overworld without a nether portal, create it again and maybe, just MAYBE, you might successfully reproduce this bug. If you are still unable to, please close this at your earliest convenience. These "bugs" that I report that aren't really bugs (they either turn out to be an issue on my end or a duplicate of another bug), the constant overheating, battery charging issues, MASSIVE LAG SPIKES, and the fact that I am running on a no longer supported version of Windows, might just be enough to convince my parents to buy me a new computer.

The images I have posted here show the area that the portal was suppose to be.

Also, if no one can reproduce this bug, please inform me. Perhaps this will be motivation enough to convince my parents to buy me a new computer. One that isn't an absolute piece of crap.

Can confirm this. It is not just limited to walking over slabs, but trying to jump up/fall down blocks.

Simply put: Depth strider allows you to swim faster in water. Soul speed allows you to run faster on soul sand and soul soil. Frost walker allows you to freeze water and slip and slide over it, which can make you go faster. Now, I could see Soul speed and frost walker going together, but this is Mojang we're talking about. Do you really think they'll be logical and purposefully allow players to combine soul speed and depth strider or frost walker together when the player can't combine mending and infinity on a bow? Both mending and infinity do two totally different things, and yet Mojang made them mutually exclusive. A more logical choice would have been mending and Unbreaking, but no, they had to choose the two enchantments that do two totally different things just to piss the fan base off. Soul speed and depth strider/frost walker do totally different things too, and for now you can combine them, but that won't always be the case. In the end, Mojang will do the next most illogical thing and make this enchantment mutually exclusive with other 'boots only' enchantments.

Should this one be passed off as a duplicate of one of the bugs I mentioned above, I will find out how to reach out to Jens Bergensten himself and complain to him that the people here on the Mojang issue tracker are passing off bug reports as duplicates of others, even though the descriptions between the two bugs are different.

The only way this could be a duplicate of another report is this one could be a duplicate of my old report.

Can confirm this for 20w09a. Also, enchanted shields with plain banners on them have no glint what so ever. Not even on the handle.

Issue is linked with shields decorated with banners that have patterns on them. Please look at attachments for my proof.

Nope, this is a different bug, but it is similar. My shield is not enchanted, only my sword and my iron boots. This isn't really a game breaking bug, it's just something I noticed when I got my enchanted diamond sword and the glint wasn't rendering on it. And there is no enchantment glint on the shield, not even on the handle. I dropped it on the ground to be sure.

And, before anyone comes back and says I'm wrong, both those bugs listed in the previous comment had to do with an enchanted shield or an enchanted chestplate. As you can see in my screenshots above, neither my shield nor my chestplate have an enchantment glint, meaning their not enchanted. Only my iron boots, crossbow, and diamond sword are enchanted. On a side note, regarding the bugs above, I have never encountered those issues, and I'm playing snapshot 20w09a. And when I say never, I mean never. Not in any of the affected versions that those particular "bugs" affect.

On last thing: if no body can confirm this, I will take it as an issue on my computer's end.

Alright. Sorry for duplicating the report. I was unaware of such a report, and I'm glad that this particular issue isn't just on my end.

In response to Ezekiel:

Thank You! At least someone here politely asks me a question instead of making a rude comment(to you it may not seem to be rude, but I think it was rude). In regards to the graphics card, yes that is the card I have, and it is the minimum requirement for minecraft. I know it is because I play minecraft almost every day(although I do have to take frequent breaks due to an overheating issue my computer has, but that's because I play with mods). However, I am slightly convinced that this computer's graphics card is failing, but then again, I am more then convinced that the computer I am using is a used computer that had been sold on amazon.com for a cheap price(no more than fifty US dollars). Regardless if you were to 'reproduce' this bug on your computer, and it proves to be an issue on my end, perhaps the graphics/video card is finally failing, at which I will need a new computer, hopefully one that can surpass the recommended requirements.

(On a side not that is irrelevant to the bug, by December 25 EST, my computer will hit its two year mark. Which is surprising since my brother had the same computer type as me, and his didn't even last a full year!)

Apparently, my graphics card does not surpass the minimum requirements. But everything else does, and I have no issues playing minecraft. Sorry about that.

In response to Michael Wobst:

My computer SURPASSES the minimum requirements to run this software. This excuse you've given me is literally short for "We're too lazy and incompetent to actually look into this issue seriously, so we'll just pass it off as invalid". Nice try. How about getting a certified Mojang employee to take a look and try to solve this problem.

Now then, does my computer surpass the recommended requirements to run Minecraft? Probably not. But it does surpass the minimum requirements, and this has been certified by not only my family, but also by a computer technician who installed some anti-virus software on my computer. Then again, my computer is a P.O.S and is dying, so that may contribute to the problem. Regardless, I suggest you people re-open this issue and solve it, or are you gonna wait for someone who has a computer that surpasses the recommended requirements to report this, and then solve it, when I reported the same thing and you didn't solve it then? If you do, you'll only prove to the world that you truly are lazy and incompetent.

Also, don't believe everything the crash report reports. It's not always right, and there have been cases in which the crash report says "This is the problem" when in reality, that wasn't the problem, something else was. So yeah, don't believe everything in the crash report.

On another note, if this problem is linked with only my computer and no one else has this problem, then just say so. I'd be willing to accept that over my computer "doesn't meet the minimum requirements to run this software" because that's just B.S and I know it.

Also affects 1.15. First spotted in 1.15.1 though, because before I could update to 1.15, the game was updated again to 1.15.1
