Also an issue on my OnePlus 3T. Crashes on startup after displaying the Minecraft logo on a white background.
It appears that the issue may be related to loading custom skins. (The default Steve skin and skins from the marketplace do not cause this issue).
I did a test to make sure:
I did a fresh install of Minecraft on my phone (clear app data).
Open Minecraft to make sure it opens properly.
Close Minecraft completely (swipe away Minecraft in the task viewer)
Repeat steps 2-3 three more times to make sure Minecraft loads fine on a fresh install.
Open Minecraft. Change skin to a custom one (using file browser or photo app).
Close Minecraft completely (swipe away Minecraft in the task viewer).
Open Minecraft again, and it crashes back to home screen while displaying the Minecraft logo on a white background.
My phone is running Lineage OS 15.1
The custom skin I load is located in the default Android Downloads folder.
Turning mobile data and/or wifi on and off did not affect the outcomes of my tests. Signing into xbox live also did not affect the outcome.
I downloaded Minecraft from the Google Play Store. The version of Minecraft is 1.6.1
