MC-168730 Villagers will not become clerics Awaiting Response MC-161383 Cactus blocks absorb falling blocks Works As Intended

Comments

I'm not certain if this is intended but it could be due to the new spawn point object in the Nether and the End which is Weeping Obsidian (which needs charges to work).

I've seen the same and, so far, only seems to be in Savannah villages.

"More than 130 blocks" is not far enough away to generate a new portal in the Nether.

Remember, the Nether is a 1:8 compression ratio (1 block in the Nether is 8 blocks in the Overworld).  130 blocks in the Overworld is less than 20 blocks distance in the Nether.

This is the bug being listed:

Details:
Entity Type: minecraft:armor_stand (avp)
Entity ID: 492
Entity Name: Armorstand
Entity's Exact location: -52.50, 57.00, 35.50
Entity's Block location: World: (-53,57,35), Chunk: (at 11,3,3 in -4,2; contains blocks -64,0,32 to -49,255,47), Region: (-1,0; contains chunks -32,0 to -1,31, blocks -512,0,0 to -1,255,511)
Entity's Momentum: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00
Entity's Passengers: []
Entity's Vehicle: ~ERROR~ NullPointerException: null

Get somebody on the server to go to the location while in game and see if they either crash or fix the bug.

If they crash out and can't get back in the server owner will need to edit the .dat file for that area and fix or delete the entity that is causing this issue.

I see this all the time and have for multiple snapshots and versions.  Not certain if it is a "feature" or not.

Did you tame them first?  You have to ride tame them just like horses to stop them despawning.

Reading this below (from the snapshot notes) it appears that open sky fishing farms should still work anyway (which I think is actually fair as fishing for many hours real world time is NOT "effort by reward" but massive levels of frustrating grind that puts people off of enjoying the game):

"in_open_water - Matches whether the fishing location is open water fishing or not. A fishing location is considered to be open water if there are no blocks above water and no solid underwater blocks around, all water blocks are source blocks and there are no bubble columns."

You do know that the top of an anvil is a "working" surface?

Real world funguses generally don't grow on these, either.  LOL.

I'm fairly certain this is normal behaviour since I've seen it (and exploited it) in previous versions.

Recommendation for your villages - add external bamboo grove and prickly bush "walls".  It works quite well.

There is also a Minecraft Discord channel that could help.

By the way, 12GB as your max memory setting???  Wow.

Also, https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Tutorials/Setting_up_a_server

This is a known bug and has been reported more times than you could believe.  Please check for pre-existing bug reports.

That log shows your server is massively overloaded/lagged:

[17:06:33] [Server thread/WARN]: Can't keep up! Is the server overloaded? Running 112640ms or 2252 ticks behind

112640ms is 112.64 seconds!  I'm impressed the server doesn't just crash.

This "feature" isn't due to Optifine as I run vanilla worlds and servers and it happens regularly.  And not just grass.

This is a feature request.  The mods will close it as this is a bug tracker only.

Looks like a pig was riding something that was destroyed from under it (like a boat or a mine cart).  This used to be a problem with killing a Ravager's rider in earlier builds.

This is the problem:  Entity's Vehicle: ~ERROR~ NullPointerException: null

If you are desperate you can always edit the dat file and remove the affected entity or correct its entry.

Please fix this!  The Nether is a nightmare now for me and my players on our servers.  The zombie pigmen never stop attacking and can see you through obstacles!

On a side note, I notice this behaviour of zombies and zombie pigmen seeing you through obstacles is a real pain.  Why was this introduced?

I wouldn't mind looking at your r.0.0.mca file from your world's region folder. I have had to fix a similar issue on my snapshot servers with pillagers riding beasts where the beast is killed from under the rider which results in the same error. I'd be interested to see if it is the same problem or something else. I can probably fix it for you.

Pillagers with crossbows are the same.  They go right through you like a bad curry.
