After updating to the newest version "v1.2.13", I haven't had any more crashes (apart from one before I signed in to my Xbox Live account, when it wasn't logged in after updating the app). My device is "Tablet - Android - Amazon Kindle Fire".

I've had this problem about connecting to servers on the internet
(the app crashing when it tries to sign in to the Xbox Live service).For me, it's version 1.2.8 from Amazon Appstore on an Android tablet
device (Amazon Kindle Fire) and most of the app crashes took place
when the WiFi connection wasn't working.

I think it's a bit different to that issue so maybe isn't a duplicate.
However, there's many other similar problems on that page that are
closed as duplicates so linking them all together could be helpful.
It is a serious error.
