Not for me. I tried to use it as a bud, it didn't work.
@Blah, as far as I know, pistons cannot be powered from the top in any way. MC 108 has no relation.
It's not. If you might read in the background, it's my BUD lab. It was discovered as BUD but then proven as a regular glitch.

Redstone blocks in the image aren't part of the case and are there solely for cosmetic purposes.
@StevenNL2000, if I'd use a dropper or put it in the way of the portal it'd be dispensed. Nothing happens except for a hiss of smoke. I reproduced it at CMP.
