This happens to me regularly on Bedrock v. 1.20.41. Usually it teleports back to the water, which is annoying but not fatal. Most recently, it placed me underground where my avatar died. And since I was holding a totem of undying it immediately resurrected me in the same spot where I quickly died again. And somehow in that process it cleared my respawn spot and transported me back to my original spawn point, thousands of blocks away. So, all stuff lost.
Same issue with PE for iPad - it seems like the chunks only partly load. I can go only so far, then invisible wall. When near invisible wall, auto-jump feature also doesn't work and I have to jump to get up one block, on foot and on horse.
I just got the new 2024 iPad Pro 12.9 inch and the issue is the same as reported below. Impossible to align safe zone with dimensions of the screen. Moving from a smaller older iPad I was shocked to see this issue has been open for years with no resolution. Combined with the change to d-pad control (MCPE-178387) and lack of ability to move the d-pad, this makes the game borderline unplayable.
