iOS: Screen safe area off center and has wrong aspect ratio.

Before 1.13.0, Minecraft could fit my screen. But now it's glitched. It's a little moved up.

I have to make it a lot smaller even though it could fit my screen now.

I really hope this gets fix SOON. I’ve been waiting for this fix for almost a year!

migrated

I have the same thing, I'm waiting since 2019 until they improve or remove it, I don't even know why they need Minecraft to remove it.

migrated

i have the same thing too :/

migrated

I found a FIX! If you download the Secret Settings pack by @wildthegamer_ the pack (when applied) gives you full control over screen safe area! And with that control you can set it to be correct! But when you relaunch the game it will reset back to the broken state. So you’ll need to set it back to be correct again. By applying this pack I also found out that the problem (for iPad Pro 11” I’m not sure about iPhones) is the Horizontal safe area is set to 97.0 it should be set to 100 and the vertical screen safe position is set to -0.5 it should be set to 0.0

I added screenshots to show

thank you 😃 !!!! it work for me (ipad pro)

migrated

You’re welcome : ) hopefully this gets fixed soon...

migrated

And where will I get this application.?

migrated

Hello there, please could someone tell me how I download this pack, I cannot find it in the store I game.

migrated

Please could you tell me where I can find the secret settings, I'm 100% new it minecraft my son is begging me to play with him but this issue is not making it easy.

migrated

Hi there What’s my name, I have tried installing the pack you suggested, but it keeps saying it has failed and gives no error as to why. Do you know how you installed it? Thanks

migrated

Please can someone tell me how I solve this is completely ruins Minecraft on my iPad Pro, I would like to play with my son but without a fix it makes it quite hard to play.

migrated

How do I download the pack? It doesn’t seem to be in the marketplace.

migrated

I cannot find it either.

migrated

For anyone who still cant find secret settings, here is the link to the mod creators mediafire link you can download it here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/s52sgkoe400gt96/Secret_Settings.mcpack/file

migrated

The issue is still unresolved, there is no slider to move the safe area up/down or left/right

migrated

I have been having this issue ever since I got my iPad Pro & was mostly able to get around it by using the linked Secret Settings Mod. That mod has not been updated in a while, & using it now breaks the pause menu. I can access settings, but cannot return to the game while using the Secret Settings mod. In order to get back into the game I have to Save & Quit, then reload the world.

[media]

So now I am stuck between a rock & a hard place. I can have the correct safe area, but can't resume the game while going into settings, or I can have a completely borked safe area. (the top end of my safe area is always slightly or extremely off the top of the screen, no matter what setting it is on 0-100)

I understand that there is a way these bug requests get filed & looked at, but to see this & another issue (MCPE-51263) not have any kind of meaningful update in years is a bit disappointing.

I just got the new 2024 iPad Pro 12.9 inch and the issue is the same as reported below. Impossible to align safe zone with dimensions of the screen. Moving from a smaller older iPad I was shocked to see this issue has been open for years with no resolution. Combined with the change to d-pad control (MCPE-178387) and lack of ability to move the d-pad, this makes the game borderline unplayable.

CookieCft

I am happy to report that in the latest preview, the screen safe area no longer resets when you restart the game! Finally 😃

For reference, I am using this resource pack to customise the screen safe area more https://www.planetminecraft.com/texture-pack/adjustable-safe-zone-screen-bedrock-edition/

However, the issue with the default screen safe area on iPad still persists

migrated

Let’s go finally 😂

migrated

Now affecting a brand new iPad Pro 11 M4 2024 the problem wasn't there on the previous iPad. Safe area is way too small. Why no way to just set each corner manually?

CookieCft

@mayerwin you can set each corner manually with this pack: https://www.planetminecraft.com/texture-pack/adjustable-safe-zone-screen-bedrock-edition/. However in the current version it resets whenever you restart the game, but when 1.21.20 releases it will save.

Thank you for your report!
After consideration, the issue is being closed as Won't Fix.

Please note that this is not the same as Working as Intended, as this bug report correctly describes behavior in the game that might not be the intended or desirable behavior, but it will not be fixed right now. Sometimes, this is because the issue reported is minor and/or impossible to change without large architectural changes to the code base.
