We've seen this as well.
Same thing is happening on PC win 10 edition as well, and there are multiple reports about it.
They are working fine on java, but performance is a fraction of bedrock, so neither platform is a good solution right now.
We just did this for hours two nights ago, and it did work. We were using the firework rockets without colored bursts.
(It was our first time finally obtaining the Elytra, and we played with them for hours.)
We used a mix of firework rockets crafted to fly, and then switched to creative mode and spawned more in to play with.
We saw something similar yesterday... we killed a few in the nether in a fortress, created a 200x31 wither farm, and only saw one regular skeleton spawn in an hour. We finally created a wither spawner in creative mode, and found they could no longer see over stairs, and couldn't even see through the dark wood trapdoors.
We were sure glad we built the farm with creative mode and the fill command! What a waste.
Still not fixed in the latest win 10 bedrock beta
We are seeing the same issue in about 20 hours in a new world. No illager patrols at all.
We haven't seen one illager patrol at all in a new world created for the latest experimental. I did find a villager tower and got bad omen that way, and the raid worked as expected, but no patrols at all in about 20 hours in game.
Same issue here.
Yes, seeing the same issue here.
We switched to Java, and the issue is completely gone, so the problem is the bedrock mob Cap, imho.
So we can either get the interface and optimisations of bedrock, or the proper mob spawning of java.
Much as we hated to do it, we are back to Java until they change mob spawning on PC bedrock.
Will do. I'll repost this over at the link you provided...maybe it'll offer some testing help.
The glueing effect isn't in bedrock but it seriously needs to be... Try finding underground illagers in every wave of a raid... It's a huge pain.
Llamas don't defend the trader from illagers in bedrock, but they do in Java. That sounds like ai oversite to me.
Unless you are a developer, you don't know these are not supposed to be in place and working, so your opinions on if these are bugs it not are invalid.
Auldrick, something we noticed with the new update.. this world is broken. After a few minutes we get the out of save space bug.
Maybe you can use this world to trouble shoot that bug, since you can load it for a few minutes before the bug kicks in?
I had no idea about the glass block issue, so thats good to know. The village took off by itself, and short of just killing villagers we weren;t sure what to do about that.
Oddly enough, after loading the world on the new release, I got the out of storage space error. I closed, wiped the world folder, extracted the archived world, and within a few minutes got the same error message.
Can you see if the same thing happens to you on the new win 10 bedrock release?
Thanks MUCH for taking the time to give me that info!
Thanks, Brian. I tried switching to creative mode and then back to survival, but that creates the out of space bug. Fortunately, I made a backup yesterday, so I could wipe and restore the world.
From what I've read, this has been going on for two years now. I hope after the village and pillage update, that they focus on fixing this long standing issue, because its pretty gamebreaking.
Survival without threats is pretty boring.
Someone suggested chaging the world to creative, launching it, closing it and then replaunching it in survival to clear up spawned mobs.. if I try that however it creates thatt out of space error bug and the game is broken.
Fortunately I made a backup of the world first.
I've noticed we have a lot of water areas 1 block below ground. Maybe zombies are falling in, converting into drowned, and then just hanging around?
Maybe zombies converted to drown (or drown in general) need to despawn after a set period of time to clean up areas players frequent?
I'm thinking maybe they need to despawn at dawn each day in player locations.. that might make some lore sense.
Someone suggested I switch to creative mode to flush spawned entities, and then switch back to survival mode to see if spawning changed...
If I switch to creative mode and try to play, I get the out of space bug (I have 164 gig free on that drive)
If I switch it back, it still comes up with the out of space error so the world ends up broken.
FORTUNATELY I did that backup for you, and if I delete the world, and then reinstall it from that archive, it works again as expected.
It doesn't look like I can change anything here without breaking the world.
Will do. Here's a dropbox link.

The zombie farm is at -340, 70, -375
There is a bubble elevator going up to the castle, and a automatic pressure pad minecart dispenser to the village to the left of the farm. At night, take the minecart or follow the tracks to the village, You'll notice no hostile mob spawns at all, including the phantom.
Go in the same general direction as the minecart track out of the village, and about 60 or 70 blocks in that direction and you'll see the hostile mobs start to spawn properly as expected.
Addons are the chromahills texture pack, the ps4 dual shock controller texture pack, and the raft and raft behaviour add on. (it allow 4 passengers on a raft instead of the boat, including animals.
Anythng we can do to help we will!
best solution for your own games right now is just give yourself bad omen with the console command every few days to simulate encountering them.
