I agree that this is a bug. Certainly not game-breaking, but annoying.

Same issue here. Intel i7-3770, 4GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 768MB (driver 310.90), Windows 8 Pro 64-bit, Java 7 Update 11 64-bit.
