MC-231339 I tried to join my friend's multiplayer server, but it says, "incompatible Client. Please use 1.17." I'm glad they say please, but I am using 1.17 Invalid

Elizabeth, THANK YOU! It worked for me too! When you open minecraft launcher, there's a tab that will let you change the version from 1.17.1, to 1.17

Then play on that, and it hopefully let's you connect to the server
