I think I’m being burned by this problem as well (on iOS 12.1, Minecraft v1.8).  It’s very difficult to reproduce, but it happens after the following steps:

  1. “Save and Quit”

  2. Hit the iPad Home button (exit the game).

  3. Enter the Minecraft app.

  4. Load the world.

The last time it happened, I appeared to suffocate somewhere below ground.  Of course, when I returned to the spot where I actually left the game, none of my items were there, so I lost everything permanently.

Yea the simplest example I could come up with was building a wall about 4-5 opaque blocks tall. If you then peek your head above the wall to look at a Creeper on the other side of the wall about 10-16 blocks away, he'll start walking toward you. Then lower yourself, and stay hidden right behind the wall, and despite the Creeper not being able to see you at all, once he gets within 3 blocks, he will still explode.

This is certainly not the behavior on the pre-Bedrock editions nor the Legacy Console edition.

This can be closed as "Not a Bug", as I was finally able to produce blacksmiths in my user-created villages. Perhaps I've just been unlucky with all of the prior attempts; it sure was a long streak, which is why it confused me.

I need to do some more tests around this, but it's looking like the ratio between number of "houses" and max villagers is 1:1, in this case. (If so, that might actually be preferable behavior!.. not sure.)

Thanks Fabian! Maybe I'll try checking that out. I was thinking that could execute when the trade interface is loaded, performance-willing.

Seems like this ought to be an easy fix:

Still present in 1.1.5. Has any developer even looked at this?

Persists in 1.1.2 . (Creepers are able to see through walls after being hit with a weapon.)

Can we bump up the priority of this? This bug was one of the reasons I stopped playing the game, as I couldn't defend my bases from Creepers. Thanks!

Hey thanks for the quick response! This is single-player on survival mode. (haha, no ark just yet.)
