You cannot go into that unloaded chunk of the world but if you use enderpearls you can get through the barriers.

Bees move backwards and things that take damage are permanently red

I am in xbox one , and when I eat at least 3-4 things, after my hunger is full, I still eat one more thing. It takes that item too.

Is it the enderman sound level when they die?

have you tried making a huge portal and if you still suffocate? Because they made it so you can make portal really big. That might give a difference...

This has happed to me too. After entering portal , loading screen takes about 10 - 20 seconds disappear. 

When I died in the nether in my survival world, the chunk where I died disappeared , when I relogged, the chunk was back but my stuff despawned.

In my creative world, I wanted to see if I killed myself in survival in the nether, If the chunk whould be gone. Instead, a row of chunks in the overword had dissapearded

I have =proof of when in both worlds. The mobs I spawned in the disappeared chunk either had their heads spinning 360 degrees or the salmon , they had the 'out of water' animation but they were in water. They looked like they were dancing.
