Ok I voted but it seems like that issue has been open for a very long time and not much has been done about it. :/ 

Please consider making it more of a priority. 

I just had this happen on my MCPE world (private so I know no one else killed the dragon). I died and came back and the dragon was gone with just an egg in its place. So now I have to go about making end crystals and try to respawn which I was going to do anyway after I killed the dragon but now I don’t have the Electra and I don’t know if it will drop again if I kill the respawned dragon so I might never get them and have to start all over which is really disappointing.
Please fix this issue Mojang!!

So no matter how often we save, if the game crashes we can lose animals?

As for your questions... The the furthest I explored was to next biomes from where I am (Sunflower fields seed) there is a frozen biome, and a big mushroom biome near me. Several 2/4 maps away. Also I went to the nether but I don’t go far from the portal. I do save somewhat often. I saved a few times between the time the horses were tagged and the horses went missing. 

Recently I was just farming for materials around my house, when I came back I saw a horse was gone. I didn’t save before I went out because I wasn’t going far, I could still see parts of my house and farm in the distance. I didn’t crash though. 

Sorry I can’t be more exact on the distances. 

Since posting this issue I added an extra fence around the entire enclosure to keep them secure and still more of my name tagged horses have disappeared. There is no way they escape from it. My whole farm is pointless if the animals are gone.

Please don’t mark this resolved until the bug is actually fixed. I’m tired of losing my animals.
