It may seem ridiculous but if you've got "home" version windows then install media player which is not there by default.

It contains the necessary codecs and the player for this game which uses WMP to play sounds (probably due to low cost porting to this platform)
okay... having spent 4 hours trying to have sound... I made it .. and it's a problem with windows N.. but the newest upgrade needed to have sound is KB3133719
the previous upgrades (and so the earlier solutions) were not working
in general, until you have media player (try searching for this app after installing each "windows media feature pack"), you won't have no sound
to developers: you should have mentioned that in the game description in the shop so that would save everyone much effort
100% repeatable windows 10 no sound in minecraft 10 beta with one exception, i have never had sound in minecraft beta. other games are okay

other games and apps have sound, drivers are update, toggling frequencies, restarting or reinstalling the game doesn't help at all
@MissMarzenia try windows 10 home fresh install and please reopen as it is 100% reproducible.
