Hi.

While official legacy authentication endpoints remain offline, affected server owners and players can use the following established community solutions to fix authentication:

  • Use Betacraft Launcher / Auth Proxy: Players and server hosts can use the Betacraft Launcher or their custom authentication proxy, which redirects legacy auth handshakes to maintained wrapper services for old versions (like Beta 1.7.3).

  • Run Offline Mode with Auth Plugins: Server owners can set online-mode=false in server.properties and protect player identity using in-game authentication plugins like AuthMeReloaded or LoginSecurity (/register and /login).

  • Authlib-Injector: Advanced server networks can implement open-source tools like authlib-injector alongside custom Yggdrasil API implementations to bridge modern Microsoft accounts with legacy client protocols.

Hi Dana,

Try this on Windows 10/11. The screenshot suggests the launcher is signed into the Microsoft account, but Minecraft is being shown as not purchased after the update.

  1. Sign out of the Minecraft Launcher completely.

  2. Close the launcher.

  3. Open Microsoft Store and sign in with the same Microsoft account that owns Minecraft.

  4. In Microsoft Store, go to Library → Get updates and update:

    • Minecraft Launcher

    • Xbox app

    • Gaming Services

    • Microsoft Store

  5. Press Win + R, enter:
    wsreset.exe
    and let Microsoft Store reopen.

  6. Restart your PC.

  7. Open the Xbox app, sign into the same Microsoft account, then open Minecraft Launcher and sign in again.

  8. If it still says Minecraft isn't purchased, do not buy the game again. Check that you're using the Microsoft account that originally purchased/owns Minecraft.

If that doesn't work, reset the launcher: Settings → Apps → Installed apps → Minecraft Launcher → Advanced options → Repair. If Repair doesn't help, use Reset, then sign in again.

The important part here is that the issue looks more like an account/license synchronization problem after the Windows 11 update, rather than the game actually being unpurchased.

Hi,

I found another possible cause for this issue. After removing Application Data from run.cmd, the “We cannot verify the products you own” error no longer appears.

This suggests that something within the Application Data parameter may be interfering with the launcher’s product ownership verification.

I hope this gives you another angle to investigate.

Hi Clamlol,

Thank you for reviewing the bug report. After looking into it further, it seems that the version was actually 1.21.11.
