please try in vannilla minecraft because it could be a bug in a mod you had loaded. also how fast was your connection to the server you noticed this on?
i think you just have bad luck tbh. the introduction of bastions means that fortresses are rarer. there is also a chance that really small fortresses can generate so i guess keep looking lol. i might be wrong though
i think that the second bit is intentional to cause competition over who kills the dragon and gets the achievement. i do agree though that no credit when you used a bed to kill the dragon is a bit whack.

yes but with full prot 4, featherfalling 4, and blast prot 4 leggings an enderpearl does half a heart and an endcrystal on the same level as the player should do 8 hearts. Enderpearling into an endcrystal does about 3 hearts so the endcrystal does some damage just not the full 8 hearts. In one half second then only the largest damage value is applied and because enderpearling into an end crystal does 3 hearts and just enderpearling does half a heart, then we know it is the endcrystal dealing the 3 hearts.
this is anoying in crystal combat because my opponent doesnt pop a totem when i catch their ender pearl with crystal. especially as i have high ping on alot of servers that i play on.
