Same here in my Android 10 realme 3, i also can't join my friends and when i try to invite my friends, it says that there's a problem in my connection even though i have a fast wifi.
It's called Hotspot and wifi connection. I think they removed this feature a long time ago and the only way you can play with your friends is online or when your friends are connected to the same wifi and has internet. Hope this helps!

I think this is similar to my issue cause I can't invite and join friends. Its like the connection is broken in this version
