Can confirm I have also had a similar problem as well.

This isn't a bug. On Android it's a bit different then iOS to get back to the title screen. Here's the steps on how to get back (from what I remember):

1. Touch the navigation symbol on your phone and it should pause your game (if not comment)
2. Click "Back to Title"

Confirmed on v0.11.1 iPhone 5S running iOS 8.1. It gives hunger instead of poison as it should be giving the player.

Also I'm pretty sure once hunger is in MCPE, this fix (if it gets fixed in either 0.12.0 or another minor update 0.11.3) will be reverted.

Confirmed also on 0.11.1 on iPhone 5s (iOS 8.3)

This is intended, it is also in the PC version. Makes them more dangerous during the daytime I think.

Confirmed on iPhone 5s MCPE 0.11.1 as well, I am having the same issue.
