I have also suddenly just encountered this issue today April 11, 2023, when trying to add the Chroma Hills texture pack to my realm, but not the sonic pack, I got a pack called "Bee Parkour" which turns everything into honeycomb texture... it's awful and scared the heck out of me because I thought I'd broken my realm for a second lol.
The reason I wanted to upload the textures straight to the realm was that my friends and I are a little tired of having to manually load our texture list every time we boot up the game. Would be lovely if perhaps Mojang got a dedicated bug hunter team to have a look over Realms and start patching out these silly but very inconvenient little issues that plague the Realms experience... we do after all pay money for this and it's super frustrating at best and absolutely game-breaking at worst. 😞
This has happens to me on both the Java the Bedrock editions and on the Bedrock server, it's been the worst on the multiplayer server so far.
Issues are
villagers suddenly not being able to path find to their beds even though the terrain is perfectly flat and has a 3 block wide dirt path connecting every house, I have tried both the single bed in each house vs a long dorm style accommodation with multiple beds and neither seems to make any difference. Villagers either seem to not find the beds within at all or angry particles appear above the beds as the villages struggle to find the bed wile wandering about the village all night.
Sometimes they even stand on top of the bed and still can't seem to find it, breaking the bed can sometimes help but this only seems effective 50% of the time, it's as if the villagers don't belong to this village somehow.
In the last week of my game play multiple villagers have been mysteriously ending up in places that are impossible for them to get to like the roves of their houses, on top of the defensive wall I built around part of their village and inside my fenced off animal pens and crops, ! can't explain how this keeps happening, I've only noticed it on the Win 10 bedrock on the server with my friends so far and not in single player on bedrock or java yet.
No cats or Golems, all wild cats have vanished and all golems have de-spawned, this is the first game this error has ever happened on win 10 bedrock server.
New error just started for me a couple of days ago on the server, I'm now having the overpopulation bug too, got 30 beds have so many villages it's impossible to count them, they are breeding out of control, must be over 70 villagers at this point, I'll try and get some footage as it's mind boggling.
Info about village
This is a naturally occurring village that I have teraformed and expanded
Bell is located as close to the center of the village as possible with a nice wide dirt path area about 7 blocks around so villagers can mingle and gossip with nothing getting in the way, pretty much these weird behaviors start soon after starting to expand the village in every version I have ever played since 1.15, continues in 1.16.2, I wouldn't have thought I was doing anything weird, just simple teraforming and a slow expansion so all the trades are represented.
I haven't tried breaking the bell and re-seting that yet... kind of afraid it'll make it worse.
This is still a major issue in 1.16.2. I've just had almost an entire village break.
Over 90% of the villagers won't sleep even though there are enough beds, they will literally stand on top of their bed and not be able to find it or they just wander around the village in the middle of the night and end us as zombie bait, they also can't seem to path find to their workstations either.
Weirdly I put a fence around the whole village to keep the idiots safe but they keep spawning outside the fence somehow and also up on top of house roofs that should be impossible for them to get up on. The broken ones frequently run away from the village, they just walk off into the unknown and keep going until they de-spawn.
I have an update regarding this bug, turns out it wasn't a marketplace texture pack at fault after all like I first believed so no, Chroma Hills wasn't the issue in this instance.
I actually have a self-made pack which got loaded too, isn't really a texture pack more of just a colour overlay which for some reason triggered this when loaded, it's a tiny file 167kb and the only thing it contains is a gradient map of the grass to make it more vibrant and greener, also the Birch trees are recoloured pink (our way of getting cherry blossom trees before 1.20).
That's the entire function of my "texture pack" it contains absolutely nothing else extra and should happily sit on top of the texture stack as it does in the regular texture folder and simply enhance the colours of any other pack under it... so why on earth would it cause a texture pack I don't even own to load on top of the stack and cause utter chaos??? Any thoughts?
