A little note to the Mojang Team

This text is for you. Please read it carefully. And please don't feel attacked – feel addressed.

Behind the numbers below are real people. We are not statistics. We are the kids who grew up playing Minecraft. We are the friends who want to build an autumn and Halloween village on our own server. We are the players who simply want to play the game they paid for.

We know you work hard. We know bugs are just as frustrating for you as they are for us. But this one bug locks us out completely. We can't even see the main menu. Please don't leave us behind. Please take care of this. Not because we are angry, but because we simply want to play.

Thank you for reading this.

The Current Situation: A Total Outage for a Complete Platform

Since the 26.50 and 26.51 updates, iPad users cannot launch Minecraft. The app shows the Mojang logo, then a white screen, and closes. No menu, no game. This affects all iPad models and iPadOS versions. The 26.51 hotfix did not fix it. This is an Apple-exclusive startup crash that has been ongoing for days.

The Numbers: Why Apple Users Are Indispensable

Minecraft has sold over 350 million copies, making it the best-selling video game of all time. The crucial point:

  • Mobile devices (iOS + Android) account for roughly 88 million active players – about 41% of the entire active player base. This is the largest single sector.

  • The Pocket/Bedrock Edition, which runs on iPhone and iPad, accounts for 155 million of those copies sold – more than half of all Minecraft sales.

  • The mobile sector is the highest revenue generator, making up about 52% of Minecraft's annual revenue.

  • Minecraft is the best-selling paid game on the App Store – on both iPhone and iPad – two years in a row (2024 and 2025). Apple's own annual charts confirm it holds the #1 spot for iPad games.

Why This Is a Risk Mojang Cannot Ignore

A startup crash on an entire platform is not a cosmetic issue – it's a total outage. Affected users cannot simply switch to another platform if they only own an iPad. And this is not a niche group: The average Minecraft player is 24 years old, and the mobile version has been one of the most downloaded apps on iOS for over a decade.

The community has already reacted: The official bug report (MCPE-242503) has 138 votes and dozens of comments. The Mojang Triage Team has officially acknowledged the report. But acknowledgment is not a fix. Every day Apple users are locked out is a day they cannot play – and eventually, a day they might stop wanting to play. That is the real risk: not an angry player, but a player who stops trying.

Our Request

We are not asking for much. We are simply asking to be able to open the game we paid for. Please prioritize this fix. Put it at the top of your list. The Apple community is not just a statistic – we are millions of players who want to keep playing. Please, release a hotfix as soon as possible.

Additional Technical Info (New Info for Triage):

Important observation regarding the white screen: This issue actually started 3 days before the 26.50 update (in version 26.45). Back then, the white screen appeared for about 2 seconds, but the game still successfully loaded into the main menu. After updating to 26.50 and 26.51, the exact same white screen appears, but now the app completely closes instead of reaching the menu. This strongly suggests a regression or timeout in the UI initialization code.
