You travel instantly in creative mode Ben, that is very much intended.
"Affects Version/s" needs to be updated.
There's quite a difference between a recent snapshot (without which this can't even be discussed) and the many updates of it existing beforehand. This isn't hypocritical in the least, on the contrary it needs to be brought up and come to a final conclusion at quickly as possible for that reason.
It has been used and loved by users for quite some time, and similarly to how wooden slabs used to burn and people made builds around "unburnable wood" the new burnable wooden slab got a new ID instead. I don't see why this shouldn't be a case like that.
This used to only happen in multiplayer-servers, but with the code merge... yeah. The problem is NOT the texture animating, that makes perfect sense, the problem is the nauseating warping of the world that going on at the same time.
I saw this fix posted in another report: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/892045-sound-lagstutter-fix/I haven't tried it out myself though as I haven't really noticed the issue. I've tested it now, works wonders.
Edit: Found the report, https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MC-46 . It's most likely the same underlying issue with the sound engine.
Yeah that's definetly the same issue, didn't think of looking backwards in the minecart when testing it myself lol.
While intended I think it would make sense if the icon of the single entity changed to indicate it contains multiple items instead of just the one.
Indeed, but seeing it from a 3rd party perspective I have a hard time seeing this as anything else than a bug, it also fits in their wanted "Expected behavior VS Actual behavior" format.
The gamerule command should overrule it. It's not about difficulty, it's about a function not doing what's advertised (remove mob griefing AKA mobs don't destroy blocks)

A bit late but I have to ask, what kind of exploits could there ever possibly be? In creative mode you're supposed to go beyond the survival game and be creative, how can you exploit in the mode that should allow you to do anything?
