also had the EXACT SAME PROBLEM. I just found a mangrove forest and frogs and was collecting stuff when I came back next day i was back at my house inventory reset as well as world generation and mobs that I had killed only saved thing was broken blocks

I was having the same problem and it is really annoying. Accidentally posted a bug report on the same issue. Didn't see this one when searching.

Strange that they won't fix this as it used to work in older versions. It is also really annoying to craft dispensers anyway because bows don't stack.
