Playing on a realm. Currently getting text textures that are broken, as in unreadable letters. In addition, text is turning multicolor, red, or black. Tried using F3 and t to reload the texture packs. Sometimes this reverts things to normal, but then objects like chests and signs start flickering and then the text gets broken again.

Still affects modern versions such as 1.18-pre4 and 1.17.  Suggesting reopening.

Yes, but blocks are items (mostly).

That's not true.  Several blocks have rarity colors.  The following blocks are affected:

  • Mob and player heads

  • Beacons

  • Impulse, chain, and repeating command blocks

  • All light blocks

  • Barriers

  • Structure blocks and voids

  • Jigsaw blocks

  • Spawners

  • The Dragon Egg

I would like to request that this issue be reopened.

I can confirm that this still exists in version 2.2.3554, exactly as it has before.

I'd like to point out that this applies to many other versions besides just this one, particularly very old versions for which files do still exist and have been circulated in other areas, such as the Minecraft Wiki.

I can confirm that I am also experiencing this issue, exactly as @TTNO1 described.  I, too, am on a Linux system, mine being GalliumOS 3.1.  My launcher version is 2.2.3200.

mod, the thing is, well, why where the versions just not there?

Happened in 1.15.2, kilometers away from spawn. Single player. 

I would also like a bit of reassurance that this is being fixed, but I understand if you are trying you best. Lost a librarian with the best deal ever (Mending for 10 emeralds!), but now she is gone. Makes pretty much the entire village and pillage update useless.

Those are not old textures, that is the unemployed texture for new villagers. I believe that this is working as intended

I do not think they are dying, because that does not explain the  "[Server thread/WARN]: Fetching addPacket for removed entity." spam.

Edit: This also seems to happen in spawn chunks more often than not.

As I said, this has happened on my single player world.

I don't have any cliffs in my village.

My village was within about 100-400 blocks from spawn. I don't think these are sleep related. I'm no coder, but they seem to just despawn, besides the addPacket thing.

I would like to confirm that this has happened in my single player world, and raids do not work on that village. The villagers are definitely gone. Let me know if I can be of more use.

For me it just happened after about 3hrs in one world. I have not found a reliable way to reproduce it. Sorry I am not of any more assistance.
