Also seeing this on Win10 with villagers in a 1 block wide "hallway" around a fully functioning iron farm. No mobs around (fully lit up), glass on top, etc.

During the day, they're fully active - moving, shuffling, farming, breeding, picking up food, etc.

At night, they completely freeze - no moving, shuffling, farming, breeding, picking up food, etc.

Once the sun comes up, they're back to normal.

It doesn't "only really affect people who type fast". It severely impacts the ability to use the chat feature at all. Not only does it take significantly longer to "catch up" than it should, but it also often takes a few seconds to actually send the message, which means you can't exit the chat interface (to avoid a creeper attack, for instance) until it decides to catch up.

Just want to make sure you're not downplaying the effects this bug can have.

Interesting observation: I had to completely reset my Win10 machine due to other unrelated reasons about a month ago. This involved removing all user files and apps and restoring to basically what it was like when I got it from the factory.

I reinstalled Minecraft (v1.2.11.x) and the Faithful 64 texture pack, (so the same setup I had previously) and the lag is mostly gone, though it does show up sometimes, it's not nearly as much as it was previously.

Not sure what that helps, but thought I'd add it anyways.

Seeing this on Android as well. I was able to resolve by uninstalling and then reinstalling, but once you exit the game, it happens again.

I feel like this is made worse in v1.2.9. What can we do to get a Mojang developer to at least acknowledge this bug? Do they not play/test on Win10? It's pretty glaring and really damages the gameplay.

Unfortunately, I have confirmed this bug is still present in v1.2.8.0

Odd - I haven't seen any consistency issues - it is always there for me. I have tried both with and without texture packs (I normally play with Faithful 32x32) and seen no change.

System Specs:
64-bit Win10
Intel i5-6200U
8GB RAM

UPDATE: Confirmed this bug is still present in the v1.2.7 release on Win10.

This is getting worse for me - if I use the enter key "trick", it's still several seconds after I hit 'esc' before the chat window closes.

If you hit esc repeatedly (trying to speed it up like the enter key) then sometimes the entire GUI disappears and I have to relog in order for it to come back.

GUI = anything onscreen other than the environment. Hot bar, health/hunger bars, etc.

Seeing the same. Note that once it does catch up and you hit Enter to send, it gets sent immediately, so I don't think it's necessarily an overall chat lag.
