MC-27997 English UK translation contains vulgar language for Sponge Fixed

Comments

FWIW, I ended up writing a Bukkit plugin to resolve this issue. It's not perfect, but hopefully useful for server owners affected by this.

Please re-open and consider this a bug, or at least an undesirable design decision. Rivers like these or entries like this are un-navigable because of this change, and I don't expect players to change entire sections of river to work around this.

Sorry about that; although the screenshots were not mine, I did test using a modified client. I have just retried the reproduction; it also affects vanilla 1.8.3 single player. These are my own screenshots: http://i.imgur.com/PchDwA2.jpg http://i.imgur.com/WFrxaLD.jpg

I will correct my comment. Thanks!

I believe a player on our server also found this bug, but with a different reproduction: http://imgur.com/a/zwyuB It seems hoppers can insert items into chest minecarts two blocks away to the north or west, but not south or east.

I should note, I was only able to reproduce this on a vanilla server ( minecraft_server.1.8.3.exe ), but in single player the linked reproduction does not work (hoppers behave as intended) Can be reproduced in both vanilla server and vanilla single player.

@Kumasasa: I believe that was me; I committed "Sponge" back into the translation and reported the abuse.

Honestly, I am surprised such an obviously abusive translation made it into the release of a widely played game. I am tempted to just file another bug report or feature request regarding user-submitted translations, to suggest that they at least be checked out before being committed.

I have to comment also, Crowdin is a seriously awkwardly designed tool. It took me a while to figure it out and the only indication on this bug-tracker that translation issues are to be fixed on Crowdin are on such issues' comments themselves.

Could at least any of this be looked into?
