The problem seems that all animations that rotate any part of the body don’t work and the joint stays locked at it’s position, they can move on the vertical and horizontal axis just fine but they’re locked rotation wise. The issue is present only on the Android x86_64 build, but it’s fixed on the ChromeOS x86_64 build, which both are android builds.
Footage from the older bug report
Not sure if this problem can be reopened, but it isn’t just a “vanilla environment” problem:
1. The problem is reported across x86_64 environments, both Android containers, emulators, VMs, thin environments and native x86_64 non-chrome os devices.
2. The videos were recorded on a fresh instance of bedrock, same as the world, it was just created at the moment of recording without any resource/behavior packs loaded.
3. Refer to point 2.
4. The issue is universal, both on servers and single player.
I understand the issue and the reasoning for the problem to be closed, but the issue is with bedrock itself rather than with the environments they’re being ran on, I’m just asking if it can be looked at again and, if replicated by the devs, to be reopened.
This is not a problem with Minecraft itself, but with GNOME’s not-so-intelligent, for lack of a better word, decision to not implement xdg-decoration (or server side window decorations) on Wayland. Mojang would have to do one of these:
Fallback to X11 on Linux by default
Fallback to X11 only on GNOME
Use SDL’s basic wayland decorations on GNOME
Implement libdecor (which would make it so Minecraft Java pulls the entirety of the GTK widget toolset, as well as parts of GNOME and libadwaita just to have decorations on this one desktop.)
Not really Mojang’s fault sadly, it’s the fault of this feature incomplete environment.
