Talven81, this is not a technical support issue, this is a bug. When using the most recent version (1.7.2) to connect to a recent server (1.7.2), I frequently get the same error: "an existing connection was forcibly closed by the remove host," usually accompanied by a server crash.

You must be misunderstanding. The block doesn't reappear, it just vanishes. It doesn't drop an item, and it's still there, but it's invisible.
I am also experiencing this issue. Minecraft server v1.14.4. Iron farm in spawn chunks (and contained within a single chunk). Villagers and zombies have sporadically disappeared multiple times.
