Confirmed as resolved in Preview 1.19.70.23 on Windows 11.

Affects Preview 1.19.70.20 on Windows 10.

Confirming the changes made in 1.19.70.20 Preview. File sound_definitions.json updated with max_distance=48 added for all noteblock sounds. Noteblock volume now attenuates linearly.

Still an issue in 1.19.41.1. Noteblocks can technically be heard from 44 blocks away but only very quietly and not at all from 45. The drop-off is too extreme, meaning the volume of a song played by a noteblock circuit fluctuates as a play stands still and listens to it. It limits the size of the possible circuit (length of song) in order to ensure it's audible. This doesn't seem to happen on Java - the noteblock volume doesn't drop off significantly for at least 30 blocks.

Candles cannot be placed on lightning rods, walls or fence posts, I think I have seen this in Java. Perhaps it should be possible to place one candle on any of the surfaces on which a torch can be placed?
