MC-2423 TNT explosions do not graphically remove destroyed blocks until they are updated Duplicate

I agree with Stefan, unlike rain / torches / fire the note block particles are part of their interface, and should always be shown.

It looks like constantly powered dispensers and droppers are now firing on block updates. The water placement is an update so causes this loop.

The previously existing redstone update dispenser bug is here: https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MC-846

Still occurring in 13w10a

I also had this problem, crash report is attached.

Allow me to clarify: I think that the dispenser update bug should be fixed for the same reasons that the comparator bug was fixed.

This bug is widely used by the community, however I believe it should be fixed. As with the 'constantly updating comparator' issue it causes far more issues than it solves. One of the stated goals of 1.5 is to make redstone logic 'more predictable and consistent', and fixing this issue is a perfect way to do that.

Is this just the texture, or do both doors open the same way?

I agree with your point that as there is a limited amount of metadata, and that not fully supported blocks should be first to be replaced when the limit is reached.

However, the limit still has two more metadata spaces before seamless blocks would have to be removed. The developers would not have to bend over backwards at all, and the game would be harmed in absolutely no way if netherbrick half slabs had been made at metadata 7 instead of 6.

Because double netherbrick half slabs are officially part of the game in a full release it is too late to simply change the data value without breaking people's legit builds. Pre 1.4.6 maps can only be fixed by mapmakers by changing 43:6 and 44:6 blocks to 43:7 and 44:7 blocks.

However, unless Mojang address this issue and guarantee that 43:7 and 44:7 will not be overwritten in a future update, this issue will most likely happen again.

It is a shame that this issue which had an incredibly simple fix, and has disfigured scores of maps, has been completely ignored by Mojang despite being on the bug tracker.

For a short time these blocks were available in survival by exploiting a block transmutation bug. Mojang quickly fixed this bug, but did not turn the blocks into double half slabs as they easily could have.

I am sure that Mojang were aware of the block's existence through LPers, for example Etho (who Dinnerbone watches) used these in a recent episode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Io668pODsEA#t=271s

I am also experiencing this issue.

While technically never craftable in the game, seamless stone slab blocks are used widely in adventure maps, it would be a shame to see them loose support.

I would suggest incorporating these blocks into the game in a clearer way, like how there are chiselled and decorative versions of sandstone, slabs could be 'chiselled stone'.

This was on a single player world, so not network lag at least. The problem persists and you can play normally (killing mobs etc).

The blocks render correctly again and the crater appears on relogging.
