I second the observations listed in the original description. After toggling difficulty from hard -> peaceful -> hard, a few skeletons may spawn in the fortress but that is it, as they completely disappear shortly after. As for any other time, the only place I ever see wither skeletons after the update are inside lava lakes below the fortress.

Can also confirm that slimes are rarely spawning in slime chunks and swamps as of the new update. Maybe 1-2 in a long while, but no more.
