This has happened to me virtually every time I'm taking a boat across stretches of water on the most recent preview, on any world I create. It seemed to happen more quickly when I was holding a map but that might be me projecting.

Happening for me in v1.17.0 running on both Android and Windows 10. Wasn't an issue before the update.

This has suddenly started happening for me (just after building a wool farm with observers relying on the change) on 1.14 - not good!

I can confirm this one. Vanilla 1.7.2 server and clients. First noticed when an arrow stuck in sand not far from world spawn persisted for many in-game days (was used as a navigational aide); and more recently in a skeleton grinder whenever skeletons have a line-of-sight on a player and many shoot, there are hundreds of persistent arrows embedded in nearby structures.
