I used to get this error a while ago, and whenever I got it an AMD error window would pop up and say that my drivers crashed or something like that. Maybe try updating your drivers?
Also, I am not sure if this is the same error code, but it looks like what I remember.
This isn't because of something else on their computer, because if that was true how does this mod fix it https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/sledgehammer
Is the server or your client modded and if it isn't then try doing this with a lower render distance and see is the issue still occurs.
