Confirmed for Release 1.8.

Also, my friend said he has been having the same issue with armor stands. He's on windows 8 (I can't do any further specs on it at the moment, sorry) and I'm on the latest version of OSX. Could it still be a graphics driver issue because it's quite odd that we all have the same issue with different OSs.

Edit: Does also effect 1.8-pre2 and all of the entities above are disappearing.
Edit 2: Definitely effects 1.8-pre3 too. Almost seems worse in some cases

I can confirm it also affects 1.8 Pre-release 1. So far it doesn't seem to affect armor stands anymore, just item frames and leash knot entities. If anything, I would say the bug is less common now though, which is really weird.

Also can confirm it happens on the latest 14w34d.

As well as that; my bad for saying 14w33c before. I meant 14w34c.

I can confirm this happening to me too. I know I can confirm it from 14w32d to 14w33c (latest, as of now). I frequently see my armor stands and item frames disappear. Seems to be when I unload the chunks and reload them again. And of course, as stated above, restarting or re-entering the world does fix the problem.

I can reproduce this in the latest 14w11b snapshot. Causes lag that lasts just under half a second.

Way to reproduce:

1. Create a new world and dig down with a 1x1 tunnel to bedrock level.
2. Use the fill command to dig out a 40x10x40 area around you.
3. Remove all light in the area.
4. While standing in the empty area, place 1 block in the tunnel you dug to block the light from the sky. Can also be seen when the block is removed.

On the only computer that I can run 1.7+ on (due to other bugs), I'm getting such a massive memory leak that my redstone and game mechanics starts to lag out after about 10 minutes. It's so bad that I can't even flick a lever or eat a cake. Then I try close minecraft, it refuses to close, then crashes the whole computer. I have to then wait a few minutes before it will boot again. This is a serious problem, please fix.

I don't think it's a duplicate. My game doesn't freeze randomly like his does, it just lags an awful lot more.

Problem seems to occur on nvidia graphics cards. A lot of others still have this problem, too. Please fix this problem.

I've been googling around (this problem effects me big time) and it seems to be lingering with nvidia graphics cards. I have one and on 1.6, I get around 60fps. But for 1.7, I get around 3fps.

Found a user on the minecraft forums with the same thing, too. (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/2079918-minecraft-17-lag/)

There's also another thread here about it. (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/2062038-minecraft-lag-13w41a-to-172/)

Please fix.

I've just tested the latest 1.7 pre-release, this bug still occurs. However, it seems worse. I am now getting around 1-10fps and the game is pretty much unplayable.

@Kyle Applin: Game settings?

I can confirm this, too. I usually get around 60fps in 1.6 downwards. In the snapshot, it remains the same if the window is tiny. At maximized, I get only 30fps. At fullscreen, I get 33fps.
