This was supposed the be fixed on 1.18 Pre-Release 2. Was this part of the world generated before you upgraded you're world to 1.18 Pre-Release 2?
(I'm presuming that your world was created before 1.18 Pre-Release 2)

I personally believe that this kind of thing is hard to fix, nearly impossible.

This new snapshot is having problems with villages. If you're walking around (exploring) and a new village is generated, your game will crash.

I made a mistake. I was playing on 21w44a thinking it was 1.18 Pre-release 1. ¬¬
Played on the Pre-release and the end is generating pretty fast now. My bad. Close this, please. Case solved.

1.18 pre-release 1 is having problems with villages. When you're walking and a village is being generated, the game will crash. There might be other bugs too.

Increased my RAM to 8Gb, and the lag still happens, but much less often. And the fps still got crazy nearby and inside the Stronghold.

Had this same issue with this new version. Maybe it has something to do with world generation and villages. Maybe.

How much RAM are you allocating to your game?

I always play with 4Gb and only had this problem with strongholds, and (today) with pistons/redstone. Minecraft Java Edition needs to improve its performance because it's really bad. I play Bedrock with 32 chunk simulation distance and it run really smooth, Java desperately needs to improve it's performance. Maybe I'll try to increase to 6Gb and see if it works.

I personally believe that the villages are a part of the problem since I had other crashes in places that there were no villages. Maybe a memory overuse? The only thing that I know, is that the "crashes" that happened without crash reports and with no villages let my screen black and it didn't closed by itself, I had to open the task manager and close it.

But I had 2 other crashes that didn't generated any crash report. The window just got black and stayed black until I finished it in the task manager.
