This issue just accrued on my server, tried multiple restarts to no avail, breaking the chest drops the chest itself and no items, attempting to move the chest with a piston crashes the world. if i attempt to run a replace item on one of the affected chest it returns the error "Block at Pos(X Y Z) is not a container".
I’ve had the same exact problem. Camped out around it but still refuses to grow. Grows when you put bone on it, but will not grow on it’s own naturally.
Intended. Shields aren't in the game yet.

Also, issues 2 and 3 are most likely client-side problems, and aren't really related to the snapshot.
It does exist, it just isn't obtainable using /give. Try /setblock instead 🙂
I had the same issue. Try breaking and replacing some portal frames, it works eventually.
