@Doubletoad74

Per the wiki:

"Grass will die and change to dirt after a random time if directly covered by an opaque block or water."

Grass does not turn to dirt when exposed to air under any light level. I assume the same goes for Mycelium. Currently both blocks do turn to dirt when directly covered by an opaque block, so this is only trying to address the water issue.

Grum replied about this issue today on Reddit

"No good fix for this, the water now blocks 1 light rather than 3."

Is it possible to tweak the light level required to turn these blocks into dirt to account for the new light blockage values? So instead of requiring the block to have X light level it would now require X+2 light level? Or would that cause other issues?

Thanks! Missed that one in my search.

The water not flowing portion of this was resolved in MC-125297 however the main issue I believe this bug was meant to address is that sponges do not remove the water from these blocks (and thus destroying them like they do for lily pads). So when clearing out water from an area, we have to first remove all sea grass/kelp/coral from that area otherwise the water sources within these blocks will persist and potentially re-fill the area.

This issue exists in 18w22c.

I can also confirm that this is not resolved in 17w14a. The advancements show up fine in single player, but when I upload the world to my server I get the "There doesn't seem to be anything here" error.
