i was watching a YouTube video about something (unrelated) and they accidentally created a redstone contraption that can basically spam this bug but it requires a specific timing to get it right 

Also had this happen to me on ps4 also with the issue of mcpe 170029

update it seems like it generates with a large gap between the surface part and the underground part, try digging a hole straight down from the surface part and eventually you should get to the other 

I had this happen to me too and I tried to keep playing but I couldn’t use any menus or inventory’s but I had a 12 block interaction range where I could break/place blocks within that range.

I actually got the bug to happen in a slightly different way I was using a PS5 controller on my iPhone 8 Plus to play Minecraft and I connected my Bluetooth keyboard to input some text and the first button I pressed on the keyboard activated this bug.

based off the first 40 seconds of the video it seems like I'm having the exact same issue. 

I did find that disconnecting from the internet completely that it would successfully load then I could reconnect the internet and it wouldn't crash again until the application was closed like what you have to do to play another game although I have only tried that once
