I just had a similar horse issue.  Three horses, two with saddles and  armor, one without armor or saddle.  All three attached with leads to fence posts in three different adjacent chunks.  All three are now gone  with leads still attached to the fence posts.  I’m on switch with 1.18.12  May or may not be related, but game is also crashing intermittently when saving, maybe 3/8 saves.  Does not appear to have crashed until after the horses disappeared (crash only happened after noticing the horses missing).

I just recently encountered what I believe is this issue on Switch with the latest version.  Upon loading the world most villager trades/levels appear to have been reset.  Villagers still existed and had same job distribution, but levels and trades were all new including villagers I’d isolated for trading with only a couple exceptions.  It spanned multiple chunks and villagers not reset don’t appear to meet any consistent criteria. I have nothing solid for the cause/conditions but I had just been in the nether for an extended period of time before encountering it.

Sorry about that!  Set the filter on search, guess something went wrong.

My seed is -1241585566 and, specifically I am seeing this with a village near 642,80,-207.

I believe there are 20 beds in the village, but even with some recent “population control” I’m still at around 30 villagers.  They were appropriate numbers when I started, but after a few days spent in the area the population exploded with constant new villagers, 1-3 per day.  My observed high was around 40 when I started managing numbers.  Please let me know if there is anything further I can provide if you agree this seems to be the same issue.

I currently have a village with this issue on Bedrock with a realms world.  I will add a seed and basic info shortly.  Happy to provide anything else that is helpful.  Thought I was crazy, but the behavior seems to fit this perfectly.
