I get the same thing when I raise my mipmap settings up from 0. I tried the seed, though, and I can't reproduce it just by looking at the tree.

Lag that's caused by moving vertically?
It's the rain particles that make the sound, so if you have particles turned off, the rain sound turns off, too. Still a bug, though (although it's really useful if you get sick of it but still want to hear other sounds)
