Sure thing. I thought it only happened at night, turns out it is only more noticable at night. The sun should not be visible through the cloud, as it is obscured by a mountain

This is not a duplicate. This is a different bug. In the linked bug report, it says that clouds are not transparent from below. In this bug report, they are transparent from below. The blocks above the clouds are also transparent.

In addition, the particles made by a fish approaching a lure can appear on land. Fish do not swim on land.

It's not two deep water that causes it, its casting it close to you that causes it. (In 13w36b at least)
