Its not a bug. Its not a feature. That is why, it does not work. It would be nice if it existed, but it does not.

The fireworks in the off-hand is purely for the crossbows. It is not usable by crouching like shields. (Honestly though they should add this)

Well that is how it works, doesn't it? You are tapping really fast, chewing through the durability easily. Plus, you are using a wooden sword, the one with the worst durability.

Well did you get a "costume" on the Hive? If so, it will only appear on the Hive server, and nowhere else.
