actually it not just when they are trying to jump up a block. One skeleton in my world was in a desert biome out in the open just randomly spinning around.

Just tested it and I can confirm. The horizontally placed wood took about 2 to 3 minutes and the vertically placed wood took less than one minute.

this happened to me 3 days ago and the lava is stil there. even if I log out and come back later its still flowing there. I NEVER GOES AWAY!

works as intended. from the minecraft wiki:As Snow Golems move, they leave a trail of snow on the ground, except in Plains, Beaches, Swamp, Mushroom Island, Desert, and Jungle biomes, and the Nether. you were in a plains biome my friend. 🙂
