Hello. There is a great showcase and code analysis in the similar MC-311974.
A fix for this issue https://modrinth.com/mod/enttick (but not MC-311974!) has already been implemented in a mod for 1.14 and onwards.
Hello Community Moderation,
please read my short take, why I think this bug should be marked as Very Important.
Filtering through the bugs list, Very Important bugs seem to be noticed and fixed by Mojang quickly during the next update cycle, since there are no such marked issues older than 26.4-snapshot-2. I would not keep this issue on hold as Normal or Important for a longer time. This is an extremely annoying and unpredictable bug, on par with other gameplay breakages observed due to system rewrites.
Example: I would not classify it like https://mojira.dev/MC-309087 (oversight, Important).
I would classify it like https://mojira.dev/MC-312379 (bugged code, Very Important).
While I am not here to create confusion, my opinion is that such features have to be fixed quickly, and not be forgotten for years and/or through major update cycles.
Another difference is that the knockback feature, alongside MC-297196, have been affected since recent updates, 26.3 and 1.21.5 respectively.
I suggest making this issue noticeable to Mojang, since there are also currently no other such issues on the bug tracker. Thank you for your consideration.
I’d suggest changing the priority to Very Important, since PvP is fundamentally unplayable on 26.3, currently.
@FiskFille @bl4ckscor3 Sorry! I don’t know if pinging you works. I hope you can see whether there is a proposed solution for this issue 🙂
