Annoying bug. Especially when pickblocking doesn’t work like it does for item frames (https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/39313408512781). The only way I’ve found to do it is to change gamemode to survival. Really annoying.

I created new world (survival with commands, superflat without buildings) in 24w36a and tested placing water and lava. Both buckets converted to empty ones.
As said in the description, I’m playing a local splitscreen multiplayer. The problem occurs only for the second player; the first can change gamemodes.
