Can confirm this in 1.12, was wondering about it myself when I saw the texture and it's still the case.
Hope it gets fixed soon, even if texture packs can fix it so to say.
Was this bug there ever since the addition of Iron Golems?
Any news regarding this?
Don't want to sound rude but it's been a year and nothing.
With MCpatcher being no longer updated there's really no way for texture pack artists to do stuff and it would be nice if Mojang allowed us to edit more hardcoded colors(such as light, leather armor, particles, potions, and so on)
Oh sorry I wasn't aware that was alraedy posted.
And yeah. I did make it transparent, aiming to get some kind of "crystal armor"
Not to sound rude, but this is still a issue(in past when MCpatcher, a 3rd party thing, was still supported, you could use it to change the foilage AND water color, which worked nice), does Mojang ever intend to fix this?
Last post I've found was from a year ago, stating that Mojang wants to give texture pack creators more freedom regarding colors, yet still nothing has happened, come on, allow us to customize those hardcoded colors.
Edit: more related to the Swamp & Mesa colors, but since those are all "Resolved" I decided to ask here, hope it isn't too rude.
Hello, I did think that, unfortunately at the time of writing this I didn't have time for screenshots.
Think one can understand the issue with it's description but it's one of those typical issues where you'll understand it once you've seen it, and I planned to upload images for this later anyways, as I like to be clear with the issue.
Hope this didn't come over as bad 🙂
In the images I've uploaded, you can see the effect in the following way:
armorbrightness1.png
The left side has my skin while the right side has the helmet with the exact same color on(this is a demo skin/helmet to demonstrate the issue), as you can see the front part of the head is exactly the same, however the top one is slightly lighter(this is probably more noticeable with other colors and on the overworld).
armorbrightness2.png
Shows it in the overworld, the top brightness of the green armor as well as on the shoulders should be visible, you can also see it on other colors.
armorbrightness3.png
Comparison of the Skin vs Armor, you can't see the top of the head but as you can see on the shoulders, something is different, once again it's also shown on the other colors.
