Stuck on a Load Screen when trying to get in

My friend has a dedicated server and recently updated it to 1.16.1. When I got in, I went into the nether to get some gold. However, when trying to get back into the server after leaving for a bit, I get stuck on a load screen saying that the server is being located and generated. It lasts forever, and if I stay long enough, it disconnects. The server host says it's a render distance bug, but I already tried to adjust my render distance and there were no results. Could you check it out? I have a picture of the loading screen below.

I'm not able to reproduce this. More information would be needed to reproduce.

Most issues of this nature are host related rather than bugs with BDS.

Hi, I'm the host of the server. I've attempted to find a solution to the issue, and as stated before I initially had a theory that the issue was caused by or related to MCPE-44815, but this doesn't seem to be the case. To bullet point the issues out:

  • Nobody else has had problems connecting to the server.

  • This seems to affect him no matter what device he tries to use, and only on this server.

  • I have tried restarting the server software, the entire server itself as well as unplugging the cable, restarting the router its connected to, among other methods, to no avail.

  • Strangely, the server seems to detect his connection and disconnects and logs both, while the broadcasted chat only announces his disconnection, leading to every attempt printing the message "wayyykewlkidjmk has left the game" to all connected players.

Because of this, I'm starting to think the issues have to do with the save itself, but that still makes the issue incredibly baffling. The server hasn't had any sort of crashes or errors since his last successful connection just before the issues started (and I know exactly when that happened as I was one of the players there at the time), so if the save is the cause, it'd have to have been caused by some sort of auto-save issue.

I'd probably suggest something like:

  1. Making a backup of the server and world files

  2. Open the world in an editor

  3. Remove their characters data and start a server with the modified filesd

  4. See if it works.

Given it only happens to one person its likely something to do with his account or data on the server. Narrowing it down to that might give us something to pass on to the devs but in general we would only be able to do that if its reproducible and ive not seen anyone else with the same problem.
