Barriers can produce fall particles

The bug

Falling on certain blocks produces particle effects and footstep sounds.

Affected blocks:

  • Barrier

  • Structure void Fixed in 23w18a

  • Light Fixed in 23w18a

  • Nether portal Fixed in 23w18a

  • End portal (as of 18w31a no longer "missing texture", but obsidian) Fixed in 23w18a

  • End gateway (as of 18w31a no longer "missing texture", but obsidian) Fixed in 23w18a

Note

In previous versions (1.12.2 or 17w46a), falling on these blocks doesn't produce any particles.

Since 23w18a, only barriers seem to have this issue due to the fix of MC-1133.
