Blocks stop updating one minute after entering the Nether or the End

Gravel/sand blocks in the nether are not affected by gravity, even when manually placed or updated (eg. by destroying a block next to floating gravel). Seems to only happen after spending some time in the nether, possibly related to chunk updates. Reproducible after entering the nether and waiting a while for the world to generate and lava to fall (1-5 minutes).

Confirmed. Appears to only happen near pre-generated gravel.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Still happens in 13w16b.

It's not only gravitiy affected blocks all block updates are disabled after certain amount of time. Redstone not updating, lava not updating etc.

No real steps to reproduce, just wait one minute in the Nether or the End. Most visible with a simple redstone clock, watch it as it freezes after one minute.

The same to ne Nether. If one player is in orverworld, all works fine. If all player are in the nether, all block updates freezes.

This is fixed for 1.5.2, make sure you get the latest pre-release.

This still isn't fixed for Snapshot 13w17a.

Hello, I can confirm that this is still not fixed in 13w17a. All block updates stop after a minute or so in the End. Can any mods confirm this and reopen?

Please note the fix versions.
